Community Engagement and Support

"We are responsible to the communities within which we work and to the world community as well.
We must be good citizens - support good works and charities...."  - Our Credo.

At Janssen we believe that improving the quality of life for Australians is at the heart of our business. This commitment to our community flows from the principles defined 60 years ago in Our Credo.

Through our contributions we are actively involved in supporting ongoing health care, educational and cultural programs. We seek to build relationships with organisations based on specific projects targeted at addressing unmet need in the areas of health, education, young people and rural and Indigenous communities.

In Australia and New Zealand, we support a diverse range of organisations. These organisations include community groups, charities and outreach organisations including the Salvation Army, St Vincent de Paul and Carers Australia.

Janssen has a long-standing relationship with many community-based organisations, some spanning in excess of 20 years. Over time, we have been able to develop strong affiliations, which allow us to broaden the scope of our contributions. This ensures that our assistance reaches the areas of most unmet need in the local and wider communities.

Some of the key programs we supported in 2008 are:

  • The Macquarie Fields Intervention Centre (The Salvation Army)
  • Café 47, North Ryde (The Salvation Army)
  • ASSIST Program, Northern Territory (St Vincent de Paul)
  • Matthew Talbot Hostels (St Vincent de Paul)
  • Carramar Early Interventions Program (Anglicare)
  • Gift of Life Program (Organ Donation NZ)
  • Mary MacKillop East Timor Basic Health Education (Mary MacKillop East Timor)
  • Miller Pathways (Mission Australia Family Support Services)
