Janssen provides prescription medicines for a range of conditions in the areas of mental health, neurology, women's health, haematology, gastroenterology, and pain management. Four Janssen medicines are included in the World Health Organisation's Essential Drug list.
The research conducted by Janssen has resulted in a number of critical medicines being developed and made available to the Australian public.
These include:
- RISPERDAL® , used for the treatment of schizophrenia,
- REMINYL® , for the treatment of Alzheimer's Disease,
- TOPAMAX® , used for control of epilepsy,
- PARIET® , a treatment for gastro-oesophageal reflux disease,
- EPREX® , for anaemia in renal failure and oncology,
- PROGRAF® , which is an immunosuppressant used in organ transplants and
- DUROGESIC® , a transdermal patch for relief from chronic and severe pain.
